About Me & My History with AMSOIL

Previously, I was an AAMCO Transmission–trained Transmission Technician, an ASE Certified Master Technician, a Chrysler Master Technician, and a GM Master Technician specializing in transmission, differential, and driveline service and repair. I retired from the full-time auto and light-truck technician field in 2003.

I am also a Real Estate Broker and plan to be for as long as possible. I have a saying: “You rest, you rust.”

I began working on Harley-Davidson motorcycles in the 1970s and continue to do so today under "SOS Service & Repair", with a particular passion for the older bikes.

I started using AMSOIL products in the mid-1980s while working at a small, mom & pop full service gas station and repair shop. The owner, my boss at the time, also operated a home heating oil business, and we used AMSOIL products throughout the fleet of vehicles. The protection AMSOIL provided, along with extended oil change intervals, saved a significant amount of time and money.

When the local AMSOIL dealer retired, we lost the convenience of having a nearby “Servicing Dealer.” After a few years, I connected with another dealer through a Harley-Davidson enthusiast web forum. My Direct Jobber, George, flew into Boston to meet with me personally and explain “everything AMSOIL.” After that meeting, becoming a dealer was a no-brainer, and I did just that.

As a Harley-Davidson enthusiast myself, building, servicing, and maintaining several bikes, George invited me to participate in the 2009 Daytona Bike Week. It was a fantastic experience and a tremendous education, gained alongside other knowledgeable and passionate AMSOIL dealers.

Being both a consumer and dealer of AMSOIL products has been extremely rewarding. I’ve gained valuable knowledge not only through hands-on use, but also through interactions with fellow AMSOIL dealers, corporate staff, and my customers.

I truly enjoy sharing the knowledge I’ve gained along the way and doing my best to keep up with the ever-changing requirements of today’s vehicles and equipment. One saying I use often is, “I don’t try to push a rope.” I don’t pressure anyone, I answer questions as honestly and thoroughly as I can, share my thoughts, knowledge, and experiences, and then you decide if AMSOIL is right for you.
